Common questions
How is YieldDesk different from the free preferred-stock sites?
The free sites are databases kept by volunteers, and they are useful references. They do not publish research, score income quality, alert on call windows or work out after-tax yield from a saved tax bracket. YieldDesk does those things, and the price on this page pays for them.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. A monthly plan ends at the next billing date. A yearly plan is not refunded, and access runs to the end of the paid year. A move down to Starter takes effect at the end of the current period and keeps only the first watchlist.
What does Elite add to Plus?
Plus is the full research desk. It includes all four screeners with every filter, saved screens, all 21 calculators, every alert kind, the floating-rate desk, the Tax Center, CSV export and one portfolio. Elite removes the limits. It adds unlimited portfolios, watchlists and alerts, the iOS and Android app with push alerts, and support replies within 24 hours. One account is well served by Plus. Several accounts, or advising other people, calls for Elite.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Plus and Elite both start with a 7-day free trial. A card is required to start, and it is not charged until the trial ends. Cancelling during the trial returns the account to Starter. Starter keeps the first watchlist and deletes the others.
Does YieldDesk cover markets outside the U.S.?
Not yet. Coverage is U.S.-listed: 750+ preferred issues, 150+ covered-call ETFs, 40+ BDCs and 15+ preferred ETFs on the NYSE and Nasdaq. Preferreds listed in the U.K., Canada and Singapore are on the roadmap. They need a different data supply, and YieldDesk will announce that coverage when it is ready.
Where does the data come from?
Filings and corporate events come from SEC EDGAR. Prices come from EOD Historical Data. Rates and economic series come from FRED, the St. Louis Fed's database. The scoring method is published on the Methodology page, so every input can be checked.
